The Age of AIDS

HIV/AIDS is perhaps one of the most important medical issues of my generation. HIV/AIDS knows no boundaries. It doesn’t care what race, what gender, what socioeconomic background you come from. We are still dealing with this disease, and it’s hard to believe that it’s been 30 years since we first heard about it.

Do yourself a favor. Educate yourself about this disease. Every 10 minutes, someone in America contracts HIV. As a nurse, I strongly encourage you to sit down, get comfortable, and watch the beginning of this ground-breaking documentary from Frontline on PBS, “The Age of AIDS“.

Tonight this documentary is revisited in a follow-up called “End Game: AIDS in Black America” on your local PBS station.

Thanks for watching.
